School Day

Following registration at 8.40 a.m., the school either assembles in the Cathedral for a morning service or has a form period as outlined below. The academic day starts at 9.10 a.m. and finishes at 3.45 p.m. The lunch break and the time after school are extensively used for extra-curricular activities.

On Saturdays there is a full sports programme for those representing Hereford Cathedral School against other schools. Speech Days also take place on the final Saturday of the Summer Term.

Occasionally other weekend activities are organised (Music, Drama, C.C.F., Duke of Edinburgh, etc.).

The school has the unique privilege of being able to use the Cathedral each week-day for morning assembly. Termly Eucharists are also held in the Cathedral for all pupils. The Carol and Commemoration services are the two other major school Cathedral services that take place each year.
